NEW ORLEANS REVISITED 2005

March is an unusual time for me to take vacation but my company said "use it or lose it", so I scheduled three weeks of vacation and then wondered what I should do. The last week we decided we could afford a couple of days and nights in New Orleans. We've wanted to return to New Orleans since our honeymoon there 13 years ago in June. This time we stayed in the French Quarter instead of across the river in the city. Definitely much better that way.
The plan is to have a river cruise dinner with live jazz, a river cruise lunch with historical tour of the site of the Battle of New Orleans the next day and just hang out in the French Quarter the remainder of the time. We had beignets at the Cafe Du Monde, took a carriage ride around the French Quarter, strolled along the Riverwalk and shopped in the Riverwalk Mall, returned to my favorite bar, Pat O'brien's and ended our visit with a late night trip to Bourbon Street to see the night life and sample the bars and music.
This will not be our last time to revisit one of our favorite cities.
