LIFE IN AUSTIN '09
We're halfway through July and it's been a pretty good year so far. Lots of "stuff" going on, a lot of activities with more planned.
First of course there are the Seton parties, last one in Feb at Maries, next one still in planning.
Then of course, there was the 2 week vacation in May visiting family along the east coast!
Then Shirley's b'day party,(true age a closely gaurded secret), a really great weekend with the Loken's, (on the "Best Sunday List"), and most recently,
a tubing trip to the Guadalupe with Shirley and Marie. That one has to go on the "Best Saturday List".
Following pics are from Shirley's birthday party in June at Marie and Raul.
Calling this one July in June because we couldn't come to a July 4th party at the Loken's due to work commitments. This was the first time for Rob, with Robert and Kim, Marvin returned after being unable to attend for several years. It was also the first time the Quinns were at Laurie's for bbq, booze and pool. Kudos to Laurie and Paul for continuing to host the event, looking forward to seeing them in August for WICKED!
One of the reasons to relocate south was access to river and lake activities, and we haven't been tubing since moving here.We haven't been since our 13th anniversary, and Shirley and Marie wanted to go, (Raul had to work unfortunately), so we pack a cooler full of water and margarita's and head to New Braunfels. Whoo hoo!!
Austin is in one of it's worst droughts ever and the guadalupe is down to a trickle. There were a lot of places where you have to get out and drag the tube over the rocks and then get back in, so no real white water. But we were on the river, floating, drinking, and having fun and laughs with Shirley and Marie. Marie and Marti said it was one of the best Saturdays ever, (except for Saturday weddings).
Going toobin' again in Aug on the Comal. I think it actually has water in it! That will be part of our 2 week staycation, and then I will have to break out the rest of '09 into a second page.
