AREA ACTIVITIES

This is kind of a catch-all miscellaneous page for stuff we've done since we got here and some of the visits. I regret not getting more pictures of visitors, Laurie and Steph have been here the most but pretty much everyone else family wise has been here at least once.
This summer of '08 we went to Seaworld, took a steam engine train from Cedar Park to Bertram, went kayaking on Town Lake and went with Rob to Inner Space Caverns in Georgetown. There were also the seton parties and get togethers with new friends. There is a lot to do in Austin and San Antonio, especially Austin, and we've barely gotten started.

Barb and Scott visit early in '08. We had a day trip to the outlet mall in San Marcos.

Sometime around April Rob came to visit, we went to Seton party night, had BBQ at Rudy's, (twice), and went to Inner Space Cavern. I love caves.

Trip to Seaworld, Martha's favorite place. Really hot, lots of water and some good shows. A really fun day!

Train ride from Cedar Park into the Hill Country with Austin Steam Train association. Train goes to Bertram to a restored original train depot and back. They also have murder mystery rides and seasonal excursions.

We try our hand at kayaking. That was fun, is on our "to do again" list.

I'm going to close out the '08 page with our visit from Laurie and her friend Janet. They came to see Dame Edna at the Paramount in Austin and stayed over a couple of nights. We did dinner at the Iron Cactus on 6th Street. It is one of the top ten tequila bars in the country and features over 80 different types of tequila. It's a little overpriced but the TexMex is pretty good and they make a perfect margarita.
We stayed downtown for a couple of hours to see a halloween parade and then played a tabletop shuffleboard game at a billiard hall we found with Amber and Dave a couple of weeks prior.
