SUMMER 2003 VACATION TRIP FROM THE VANS

Week of May 19, 2003. Martha finishes her semester and passes all her classes so
it's safe for Bob and Doris to visit! Most of us either had time off or took a couple
of days so the Vans were able to stay and spend time with everyone. The big event
was to ride the new train connecting Fort Worth and Dallas.
Saw the west end, went to the JFK museum, did some shopping and topped off the trip with
a great steak dinner. Then back to train station where we just missed our train back. Oops!
So we spent 2 hours waiting for the last train run of the day in a dark, mostly vacant
station, with some suspicious looking characters who wandered in and out eyeing the tourists.
All ends well and we return home with our throats not slit and our wallets still in our
possession.
